We are fortunate to live in an era where there are safe, effective, comfortable procedures available to improve our appearance and the signs of aging and sun damage. All injectable procedures at Krauss Dermatology are performed only by our board-certified dermatologists. In addition the Vbeam vascular laser, the Pixel resurfacing laser and the Coolsculpting® noninvasive fat removal procedures are also performed by our physicians. Our IPL procedures, SmoothBeam laser and laser hair removal, are safely performed by our nurse with over 20 years of dermatology experience, but are always done with the physician present at the office for discussion and evaluation of any concerns or questions. There are many procedures marketed whose benefits are marginal, without scientific or clinical proof of their results. Our practice seeks out only the most effective and successful procedures with the best safety records. We encourage our patients to return for touch-ups if necessary to improve results or to utilize our VBeam laser post-injection to hasten resolution of a bruise. BOTOX® Cosmetic is an excellent treatment for lines and wrinkles of the forehead, brow (frown lines) and crow’s feet areas. The VBeam Pulsed Dye Laser is the most effective instrument for removing spider veins (small dilated vessels) from the face, and cherry angiomas (small red spots on the face and body). These lesions often clear with only one or two treatments. The VBeam can also help fade, over the course of multiple treatments, red or raised scars, “port wine stain” birthmarks, and red discoloration and flushing of the face from rosacea.

The Smoothbeam laser has been FDA approved for treating active acne, acne scars and fine lines. Studies have shown substantial improvement after 3-4 treatments for acne without medications. Recent follow up has shown that results last at least 18 months. Acne scars, one of the most challenging problems in dermatology, also improve an average of 50-60% with long lasting results after a series of treatments. Fine lines of the eye area, upper lip and cheeks have shown significant improvement with this laser.
